Follow these steps to complete the installation: 1. The first thing to do is create a mysql database for you. 2. Download the latest version of OSCommerce. 3. You should do this using an FTP Program upload the osCommerce to your web hosting account. 4. Now we're going to access the install wizard so we can continue installing OSCommerce. 5. going to access the install wizard, we'll point to 'http://www.yourdomain.com/install/'. 6. On this page, we'll enter the information for the database that we created in step #1. For this example, we'll enter the following: - Datasebase Server: 'localhost'
- Username: 'database_user'
- Password: 'mypassword'
- Database Name: 'dababase_name'
7. Click the 'Continue' button to enter these values. The test connection to the database should be successful. If you get any error messages, go back and make sure you entered the correct information for the database and try it again. 8. Click the 'Continue' button to run the database import. Make sure once you click the button that you don't interrupt the import or else your database may end up corrupted and you'll have to start all over again. Your database import should be successful. 9. This page contains the information for the web hosting account. All of the fields should contain the correct information for your server.
10. Click the 'Continue' button to go to the next page. This page is for checking to make sure your entered the database information in correctly the first time. 11. Click the 'Continue' button to go to the next page. This page should tell you that some files do not exist or don't have the correct permissions. 12. You need to change the permissions to some files.
